What does “Serving With Two Hands” Mean?

I first heard the expression “Serving with Two Hands” from one of my colleagues who was a social worker for the SF Homeless Outreach team. He explained that one of his friends, who studied with a Haitian Voodoo Priestess, was told that someone who serves with two hands serves of and for the community from a place of the soul and humility. The social worker then informed me that he believed that I “serve with two hands”. He stated he had never seen a medical doctor do that before, and that we needed more people “like me”. From this, I sought to develop a healing and caring system where each person is encouraged to be themselves and grounded in their own authenticity in order to “serve with two hands”.

Our dream is to assist healthcare workers in transforming their well-being, so they have the strength and compassion to support others on their healing journey. Specially, we seek to help those workers who treat individuals with drug addiction, mental illness, or homelessness. Our tools and practices help guide healthcare workers through transformative programs to better help serve their patient populations.

Through the Serving With Two Hands’ program, you will experience:

  • Perspective shift

  • Energy shift

  • Discovery of your authentic self

  • Reconnection with your career purpose
